Courtney
Platt is the consummate wedding photographer, bringing together technical
savvy, artistic talent and the sense of timing that is so treasured by
National Geographic Magazine. He has had the honor of shooting many hundreds
of weddings in Grand Cayman since his first one in 1988 and is familiar
with every venue and service provider on the island. He was the first
in Cayman to charge by the hour and deliver the original negatives as
a standard part of his service. Perhaps most notably, he truly loves to
shoot weddings, which makes him a pleasure and a calming force to have
on hand at your wedding. Every wedding receives all of the respect and
effort as if it was an assignment for National Geographic Magazine. He actually does receive assignments from National Geographic Magazine from time to time. How many people can say that a National Geographic photographer shot their wedding? His favorite of eight assignments done for National Geographic Magazine was a 2500 year old shipwreck in Turkey published in the March, 2002 issue. His assignment and stock images have illustrated numerous publications including: National Geographic (beginning with "Down the Cayman Wall", Nov. 1988), National Geographic World. Skin Diver, Scuba Times, Ocean Realm, Sport Diver, Sea Frontiers, Time, Forbes, numerous Cayman publications and several books including two of his own. Local commercial clients have included: CIDOT, Cayman National Bank, Bank of Butterfield, CIBC, Cable and Wireless, Hyatt Regency, Motorola, Flowers and Sons, Pinnacle Productions, Media Works, BB+P Advertising, Cogent Advertising, Graffix, Chowder Advertising, Tower Marketing, CITN, most of the realtors, Ugland, Crighton, Hammer, Kirkconnell, The Ritz-Carlton, numerous restaurants, hotels, condominiums, jewelers and more. A seasoned professional, Courtney Platt has been photographing underwater since 1976 and above water since 1983. His work has won numerous awards. Living in Grand Cayman since 1983 he has become a real Caymanian both at heart and by law.
